School Grade 4

Samson was born in Makira village in Mfangano East location in 2012. He is the fourth born child in a family of five children. Both of his parents are alive. His father who is the breadwinner is a fisherman but does not own his own fishing equipment. He is at the mercy of those who do to hire him to help. His father also struggles with alcoholism, so providing for the family is not always a top priority. They usually only have two meals a day. There is not always money to pay for school either. Samson and his siblings have relied on the help of relatives and well-wishers and even then they have not been able to attend regularly.

Samson’s older siblings have managed to make it to high school because of the help of others. His older sister, Jane is learning at Kakiimba Secondary School in grade 10. His older brother Tonny is in the 9^th grade.  The third born, Brighton, attends Misori Primary School with the youngest child. Brighton is in 5^th grade and the youngest is in grade PP2.

Samson was learning at Misori Primary School too before joining GGCC in 2022 in grade 2 as a vulnerable child. His parents are very grateful for the opportunity granted to Samson to learn at GGCC. Samson is equally happy and excited to join GGCC, a school he has always desired to attend. He likes the quality of and environment of education that is offered at GGCC. Samson will learn without missing classes and get all three meals.

Samson would like to work hard to become a pilot when he grows up. His best subjects are languages, Kiswahili and English as well as social studies. During his leisure time, he likes playing soccer with his peers. He is in good health.
