Vioncy was born in 2011 in Kitenyi Village in Mfangano East location. He is the second born child in a family of two children. His mother passed away, leaving Vioncy and her sibling under the care of their father who is a peasant farmer. Farming does not produce any formal income, so he struggles to meet the needs of the family. Providing three meals for them is often a struggle and sometimes all he can offer is porridge.

Vioncy misses classes when there isn’t money to pay the school fees. She also does not have the scholastic materials she needs for school or appropriate clothes and shoes to wear. This has contributed to her being very self-conscious and showing signs of low self-esteem. She also misses her mother terribly.

Her older sister, Viona Adhiambo is learning at Kitenyi Primary School in grade eight. Vioncy was also attending at Kitenyi Primary School before joining GGCC.

Vioncy was admitted to GGCC in 2024 in grade four as a partial orphan and vulnerable child. She is happy to join GGCC, a school of excellence. Her father is also grateful to the administration for considering his daughter as this is a big relief.  Vioncy likes the school environment, the friendly teachers and her fellow pupils. 

At GGCC, she will learn without interruption or fear of being sent out of school for lack of payment. She will have access to a uniform and the materials she needs to learn. This will help Vioncy to concentrate on her studies and work toward her dream of becoming a teacher. She will also get all three meals a day. Her favorite subjects are Mathematics and Christian Religious Education (C.R.E). During her leisure time, Vioncy likes playing football. She is in good health.
