Steven was born on January 18, 2012 in Kakrigu village, Mfangano North location. He is the youngest child in a family of two children. He was born to a single mother who has special needs. Her parents helped in raising Steven and Shelly, until their deaths. Steven’s uncle stepped in to help take care of Steven, but he does not have any formal job training and works odd jobs just to support his own family.  Steven has missed a lot of school when the family could not afford to pay his fees. When he was able to go, he attended Wasaria Primary School with his sibling, Shelly.

Steven was admitted to GGCC in 2022 in grade 4 as a vulnerable child. His mother and uncle are grateful to God and the management for the opportunity granted to Steven to study at GGCC. They believe that his life will not remain the same and that through education Steven will bring back hope to their family.

Steven likes the GGCC environment which is conducive for learning. He will study without any interruption or missing classes due to lack of school levies and scholastic materials. This will help him to concentrate on his studies and work towards restoring their family. His best subjects are mathematics and Christian Religious Education. During leisure time, Steven likes playing soccer with his peers.
