Stanley O. 1717

Grade Male: 9th - 12th Gr.

School Grade 11

Stanley was born in 2004 and comes from Wamai village of Mfangano Island. He is the oldest of two children in his family. Stanley currently lives with his grandmother. His father is not in the picture as he and his sibling were born out of wedlock. His mother has not been available to take care of her children. She instead left Stanley and his sibling under the care of their grandmother, who is older and works as a peasant farmer. Because this work is so seasonal, the family often does not have enough money or food to sustain them. Before joining GGCC, Stanley faced challenges like being sent away from school for lack of school levies and at times he would be without food because of the little income they had.

Stanley was learning at Repairer Christian School before joining GGCC. He was admitted to GGCC in 2022 in grade 9 as vulnerable child. He joins his younger brother, Pinto, who is in grade 5. His grandmother is so grateful to God and the management for the opportunity granted to her grandson to learn at GGCC. Stanley is equally happy.  He likes the school environment and the quality of education offered at GGCC. He knows he will no longer be sent home for lack of payment and he is assured of three meals a day. Stanley likes playing soccer ball and his favorite subject is geography. Stanley would like to be an engineer in the future.
