School Grade 4

Shobin is the third born child in a family of 5 children. He was born in 2011 in Kitenyi village, Mfangano East location. His parents are alive although his father left and went to Tanzania and did not tell his family. It is unknown where he is currently. Shobin’s mother is does not have any formal training or job skills and does not have a steady form on income. In addition, she does not have her own home. They are living with a relative. Lack of their own space and limited financial resources have caused the children to miss a lot of school. When their mother cannot pay for it, they cannot attend school. Shobin has fallen behind.

When they can afford to attend school, Shobin’s siblings Finta and Ricky are learning at Kitenyi Primary school in grades 8 and 7 respectively. Shobin’s younger sister, Esther attends Wamai ECDE in grade PP2. The youngest, Gyan, does not attend school.

Shobin was admitted to GGCC in 2022 in grade 2. His mother is very grateful to the administration for offering this opportunity to her son to join GGCC. Shobin is equally happy to join GGCC. He likes the school environment and promises to work hard to achieve his dreams. He will not miss classes again due to lack of school levies and scholastic materials. He will also get three meals a day and appropriate shelter. Shobin’s favorite subject is English and he loves playing soccer. Shobin would like to become a pilot and a pastor when he grows up.
