Sarah is the first born child in a family of two children. She comes from Uozi village in Mfangano West location. Sarah’s father died in 2002 when she was still a baby. She and her sibling are under the care of the mother who is the bread winner and just a peasant farmer.

Due to the little income the mother gets from the farm, at times she is forced to burn and sell charcoal to supplement for the family’s income. Sarah’s sibling, Fredrick Ogweno is still a baby.

While at home, Sarah takes two meals daily. She sleeps on a mattress and covers herself with a blanket. Sarah helps her mother with house chores.

Before joining GGCC, Sarah used to learn at Gulwe primary school. She was in grade four.

Sarah joined GGCC in January 2015 in grade 3. She is very hopeful and would like to become a teacher in future. Her best subject is Mathematics.

Sarah’s shoulder was dislocated sometimes back and this does not allow her participate actively in games like netball though she is active in other age appropriate activities.

In GGCC she learns well and even attends night preps which she never used to attend in her former school. She takes three meals daily and sleeps well on a bed.
