Pheonah was born in 2006 in Awendo, Migori County in Nyanza. Pheonah is the fourth born of 7 children, but her parents were not in the picture as she was growing up. She was taken in and cared for by her Aunt Salma Atieno. She is a total orphan now and has moved to live with GGA principal, Mr. Calvin Ongili, who is acting as her guardian. Pheonah has faced many challenges in her young life. Not only has she missed school, but she has lacked proper clothing and nutrition.

Pheonah was enrolled in GGCC in 2022 in grade 9 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. She is grateful to God for the opportunity granted to her to continue with her education, which was not going to be possible in her previous situation. Pheonah will be able to learn without being ridiculed for sleeping in class, not having the appropriate clothing, or lack of food. Pheonah received Jesus Christ as her Savior and enjoys going to church. Pheonah likes dancing and her favorite subject is business studies. Pheonah dreams about becoming a businessperson in the future God willing.
