Nelvis was born in 2006 and is the second born in a family with two children. He is a total orphan whose father and mother passed on in 2011 and 2012 respectively. His father died from malaria while his mother had enlarged spleen. After his mother’s death he was taken by his step grandmother who is a peasant farmer. She became their sole breadwinner. Life has not been very easy for Nelvis as sometimes, depending on the season, he only gets two meals a day. Even before her mother’s death, paying school levies was a challenge since she could not do much due to her health. After her death, school levies were even harder to get.

Nelvis was enrolled in GGCC in January 2014 after being selected by the vetting committee. Before GGCC he was in KG2 but after the interview process it was determined he should be in KG1.

He is so happy to be in GGCC where his elder brother Geoffrey is also. He feels much at home. He is an average boy who is eager to work hard so he can achieve his life dream of becoming a doctor.
