Mitchell was born in 2009 in Ragwe village, Kaksingri West location. She is the youngest child in a family of three children. Both of her parents died, leaving Mitchell and her siblings under the care of her aged grandmother. She was unable to care for them and they then went to live with their aunt on Mfangano Island. Mitchell’s aunt has six children of her own to care for in addition to Mitchell and her siblings. With such a large family to provide for, her aunt has struggled and this has often affected the children being able to attend school.

Mitchell’s elder sibling, Tonny, is learning at Orero Boys Secondary school. The second born, Samboja, is learning at Mauta primary school in grade six.

Mitchell was admitted to GGCC in January of 2018 in grade two as an orphaned and vulnerable child. She is so excited to join GGCC where she will learn without interruptions or distraction.

Mitchell is a very jovial girl who is always ready to learn. She relates well with her peers in school and likes playing football. She would like to work hard to become a doctor.
