Michael J. 1673

Grade Male: Kindergarten - 8th Gr.

School Grade 2

Michael was born in 2016 in Wakinga village, in Mfangano East location. He is the youngest child in a family of five children. Both of his parents are alive; however, this family has really struggled. Michael’s  father works as a peasant farmer, while his mother is a house wife. Peasant farming is very much dependent on the season and rains. The unpredictability of farming this way is usually very difficult for families. They often only have enough food for two meals a day. Michael and his siblings have also missed school because they couldn’t afford to pay the school fees and buy the materials they needed to attend. The interruption in attending school combined with the lack of food at home is not good for physical, social, or academic growth.

When they can afford to attend, Michael and his siblings are learning at Repairer Christian School. His oldest sibling Nawire is in grade 12. The second born Phelix is in grade 10. The third born sibling, Penina is in grade 8 while the fourth born Gaye is in grade 6.

Michael was admitted to GGCC in 2022 in PP2 as a vulnerable child.  He is happy to join GGCC and prays that the Lord will help him meet his life dreams. His parents are very grateful to the administration for considering their son as this is a big relief for them.

At GGCC, Michael will learn without interruption or fear of being sent home from school because of lack of payment of school levies. This will help Michael to be able to concentrate on his academics and meet work towards his dream of further education.  He likes the school environment, the teachers and the students who are so friendly. His best subjects are mathematics and english. During his leisure time he loves playing football.
