School Grade 2

Meshack was born on February 17, 2013 in Rinya village, Wakula North sub location. He is the third born child in a family of four children. Meshack is a total orphan as both of his parents passed away. He and his siblings were left under the care of their stepmother who is the sole breadwinner. She has her own children to care for in addition to Meshack and his 3 siblings. She does not have any formal training and therefore does not have a permanent job or income. She struggles to provide just the basics for all the children. Meshack and the others have missed a lot of school because they could not afford to pay the fees or buy the scholastic materials they needed.

Meshack’s oldest sibling Florence is in grade 9. The second born Merolyne is in grade 4 at GGCC, while the fourth born Tobias is young and not yet enrolled in school. Meshack was learning at Rinya Primary School before joining GGCC.

Meshack was admitted to GGCC in 2022 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. His stepmother is so grateful for the opportunity granted to Meshack as this is a big relief for her. Meshack is also excited to join GGCC where his sister Merolyne is learning. He likes the school environment which is conducive for learning.  At GGCC, he will not miss classes as was the case in his previous school when they couldn’t pay the school fees. This will help him to concentrate on his studies and work toward his dream of becoming an army officer. He likes drawing as a subject. During his leisure time, he likes playing soccer with his peers. He is in good health.
