School Grade 2

Masha was born on April 11, 2015, in Ugina village, Mfangano South location. She is the youngest child in a family of five children although one of her sisters has passed away.  Both of her parents are alive. Her father who is the breadwinner is a fisherman while her mother is a house wife. Unfortunately, her father does not own his own fishing equipment, so he works for others that do. This typically does not bring in enough income to provide for both the family’s basic needs as well as their educational needs. Masha’s father has not be able to consistently pay for her school needs therefore Masha has missed some time in school. She has also not had the proper clothes and school materials needed to attend school.

Her oldest brother, Wycliffe was able to complete high school, but is still at home at this time. The second brother, Felix, is attending a university, through the help of friends and relatives. the third born Tyson is learning at Uozi Secondary School in grade 11, while the fourth born and only sister passed away.

Masha was learning at Ugina Primary School before joining GGCC. She was admitted to GGCC in 2022 in grade PP2 as a vulnerable child. Her parents are very grateful to God and to the administration for the opportunity granted to Masha to learn at GGCC. This is a great relief for them. Masha is excited to join GGCC. She likes the school environment, the swings, and her fellow pupils who are so friendly.

At GGCC, Masha will learn without missing classes due to lack of school levies. This will enable her to concentrate on her studies and just be a kid. She says she’d like to become a doctor. She is in good health.
