Juliet is the oldest child in a family of four children. She was born on 12^th September 2007 in Gulwe village. Her mother is a single mother and struggles working odd jobs to provide for her family. Her mother has lived a hard life in that she was orphaned at age 7 and moved around a lot growing up. The unstable nature of her childhood has followed her into adulthood as she and her children have bounced around from place to place, with no permanent home of their own. Most recently, Juliet and her mother and siblings were living with a family member, but that family member passed away in 2021. Juliet and her family were forced to move out of that home and have moved in with a neighbor. This whole situation has had a negative impact on Juliet and her siblings. They have lacked food and other necessities, often depending on neighbors and well-wishers.

Juliet’s younger sister, Vivian, and younger brother, Rolex, attend Gulwe Primary School in in grades 2 and PP1. The youngest, Linnie, is not old enough to attend school yet. Juliet was also attending Gulwe Primary School, but times were so hard that she walked herself to the admission office at GGCC to seek a place at the school, more than once.

Juliet was vetted and admitted to GGCC in August of 2021 in grade 5 as vulnerable child. This is a huge relief to Juliet and her family.  She now has hope that she can turn her circumstances around and that of her family also. At GGCC, Juliet will receive three meals a day and learn without interruption.  She likes the school environment and can focus on her academic performance. She also likes the teachers and students. She wants to focus on becoming a nurse. During her leisure time, Juliet likes playing soccer and volleyball.
