Brighton was born in 2014 in Sena Village, Mfangano East location. He is the third born child in a family of four children. Although both of his parents are alive, Brighton is in a very vulnerable situation. His father fishes in other’s nets to support his family. However, he generally does not make enough to fully support them, and he struggles with alcoholism. Brighton’s mother has health problems that cause her not to be able to work or truly care for her children. At times, extended family and friends have stepped in to provide some support. Even with their support, Brighton may only have two meals a day. He has also faced challenges in his academics as he missed classes often when they don’t have the money to pay for him to attend.

Brighton’s oldest sisters, Emmaculate and Julin, are learning at Misori Primary School in grades 8 and 6. The fourth born sibling, George, is not yet old enough to attend school.

Brighton was learning at Lion of Judah before joining GGCC in February of 2023 in grade 2 as a vulnerable child. He is so happy and excited to join GGCC, a school he has admired for a long time.

At GGCC, Brighton will not miss classes again due to lack of school levies and he will be able to concentrate on his studies. He would like to work hard to achieve his dream of becoming a doctor. He will also get three meals a day, which he was missing at home. He is in good health.
