Walter is the only child in his family. He was born in August of 2012 at Yokia Village, Mfangano North Location. Walter was born in a single parent household. His mother died suddenly while he was just an infant, leaving him behind with his widowed aunt.  

Walter’s aunt did not have sufficient income to provide for her own son, let alone an infant. She struggled to provide the necessary nutrients that a baby needed. Well wishers helped her to put her own son through school, but often times their basic needs were not met. When Walter was old enough to attend school, his attendance was sporadic because of the aunts inability to pay the school fees. Before joining GGCC, Walter was learning at Masisi primary school.

Walter joined GGCC in January of 2017 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. He is so happy to join GGCC a place where he will learn without any interruptions.

Walter would like to become a Pilot. His best subject is Mathematics. During his leisure time, he plays soccer and reports that he loves the playground area!

Update, November 2017:

Walter is working to catch up in school, and placed 29th in his class of 34.  He enjoys science class and still hopes to be a pilot one day.  Walter is born again, and attends Pentecostal Assemble of God Church when he is in his village.  In his free time, Walter loves playing soccer.
