School Grade 9

Tonny is the fourth born in a family of four children. He was born in 2009 in Yokia village, Mfangano North location. Both of his parents are alive, although the household is affected by illness. Tonny’s father, who is the breadwinner, is a fisherman who fishes in other people’s nets, while his mother is just a house wife.

Tonny’s elder sibling, Victor, is learning at Kakiimba secondary school in grade 10. The second born, Lorgan, is learning at Masisi Primary school in grade 7. Brian, the third born, is learning at TIPs Academy in grade 5.

Tonny’s father is a polygamous and Tonny’s mother is the youngest wife. His father’s other wife has 7 children. Providing for this large family has not been easy for Tonny’s father.  Both wives have to pick up supplemental jobs to help support the family.

Tonny was learning at TIPS before joining GGCC in grade 3. He was admitted to GGCC to replace his cousin who was sent home from GGCC because of discipline issues.

Tonny and his parents are grateful to the school management for granting him an opportunity to learn at GGCC. He would like to work hard to become a Civil Engineer. His best subjects are Mathematics, English and Science.

During his leisure time, Tonny likes playing soccer.
