School Grade 3

Susan was born in 2014 in Kiwari village, on Mfangano West location. She is the youngest child in a family of three children. Both of her parents are alive, although her mother is very sick. Susan’s father works as a fisherman, but there are times he is unable to work as he cares for his wife or if she’s in the hospital, he is caring for the children. The difficulties they face physically and financially often cause Susan and her sibligns to miss school and not have access to three meals a day.

Because of the difficulties the father has in caring for his wife and also providing for his children, Susan was vetted to enroll at GGCC as a vulnerable child. She joined GGCC in 2022 in grade 1. Her older brothers, Charles and Lennox attend Kiwari Primary School in grades 8 and 1. Susan was also learning at Kiwari Primary School before joining GGCC.

Susan’s parents are so grateful to God for the opportunity granted to Susan to learn at GGCC where she will get a quality education without missing classes again due to lack of school levies and scholastic materials.

Susan likes the school environment, the teachers and her fellow pupils who are so friendly. She would like to work hard to become a doctor when she grows up.  During her leisure time, Susan likes playing soccer with her peers. She is in good health.
