Spencer has four siblings. Her mother experienced complications during her final pregnancy and was advised to deliver her baby in a health clinic. However, she decided instead to deliver at home under the care of a traditional birth attendant. A few hours after Spencer's sister's birth, she died of post delivery complications on January 23, 2012. Her father died in December 2007.

Spencer's stepbrother is her guardian. He is married and has three children of his own. He is 25 years old and earns his living working in other peoples boats as a hireling. He is responsible for the care of nine people!

Spencer was extremely withdrawn on the day of her admission at GGCC. Because of her state of withdrawal and clear sign of loneliness after just having lost her mother, it was decided that she would live with Madam Monica, a teacher at GGCC.

It was hard for Spencer to even adapt to the new diet of beans and maise at GGCC since this was different from her usual diet of fish. However, Spencer is now one of the most jovial children at GGCC! She plays with big and small children. It is unbelieveable how quickly she has adapted to her new situation!

Spencer joined GGCC in 2012.
