Silvance was born in 2008 in Nyahera Village on the Mfangano Island plateau. He is the oldest child in a family of three children. He lives with both of his parents who work in peasant farming in order to provide for their family.

Silvance siblings include Salmon Cedrik and Hellen Rozell who both attend Nyahera Primary School in grades 5 and PP1 respectively. Silvance also attended Nyahera Primary School before joining GGCC .

Before joining GGCC, Silvance faced challenges in his academics. He missed classes several times because of lack of payment and school requirements. He also did not have appropriate clothing and school uniforms, which led to some issues with low self-esteem in certain situations. Silvance also says that at home he does not get three meals a day. His father and mother do their best to provide, but sometimes it’s just not enough.

Silvance joined GGCC in 2023 in grade 9 as a vulnerable child. His parents are grateful for the opportunity granted to him to go to school at GGCC. He likes the environment and the learning resources available. He likes the teachers and his fellow students who are friendly. He also likes the Christian founded teachings offered at GGCC.

Silvance will now have the opportunity to learn without missing classes. This will help him to put more effort in his studies and achieve his life dream of becoming a teacher. He will get all the three meals he misses at home. Silvance likes playing soccer and reading storybooks during his leisure time. He is in good health.
