Shelton is the youngest of 4 children, and the only boy. He was born on February 17, 2016 in Wakinga village, Mfangano East location. Both of his parents are alive and both are working, however, this family still struggles to meet their basic needs. His mother owns a small business, while his father helps support his family by fishing in other people’s nets. They are sometimes dependent on relatives and well-wishers to help them bridge the gap. And both of his parents are HIV positive.

Shelton’s oldest sister, Maurine Adhiambo, is learning at Nyagumbo Secondary School in grade 11. The second born, Mary Auma, is learning at Ambasader Pamela Mboya Secondary School in grade 9, while the third born, Esther Nawire, is learning at Repairer Christian School in grade 3.  Shelton was learning at Repairer Christian School with Esther before joining GGCC.

Shelton was vetted and admitted into GGCC in August of 2021 in grade PP2 as vulnerable child. His parents are so grateful to God and the management for this opportunity to learn at GGCC. This is a big relief for them. At GGCC, Shelton will not miss classes because of the inability to pay or provide materials. He will also get all the three meals, which he was not getting at home.

Shelton would like to become a doctor when he grows up. During his leisure time, he likes playing soccer with his peers.
