Rollince is the second born in a family of four children. He was born in Malamasa village, Mfangano East Location in 2009. Rollince’s mother ran away from her family leaving the children under the care of their father. The father later passed away. Rollince’s mother returned only to participate in the burial and then disappeared again. It is not known where she is today. The children were left under the care of an elderly, handicapped grandmother.

Rollince’s older sister, Wendy, and younger sister, Violet are both enrolled in Sena primary school in grade 1 and in the preschool program. The youngest sibling, Joseph, is not old enough to attend school.

When Rollince’s father passed away all of the children were very young. The grandmother had to step in and take over their care. The grandmother did her best, but often the children did not have food. Paying school levies and providing for essential scholastic materials for Rollince and his siblings has been a real challenge.

At home, the family stays in an iron roofed, mud walled house. Rollince and his siblings share beddings.

Rollince joined GGCC from Sena Primary School in January of 2017 in KG2 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. He is so happy to be at GGCC and to meet new friends. He likes the school environment. Both the teachers and pupils are friendly.

Rollince will now have three meals a day and be able to concentrate on his academics. In his free time, he enjoys playing football.
