Rolex is the last born in a family of four children. He was born in 2009 in Takawiri Island, Wakinga sub location, Mfangano East location. His father died when he was still young leaving him under the care of his mother.

Rolex’s mother is a small scale business lady who has a beach seine net but the income is too little to support the family. His first two sisters, Valary Akinyi and Pamella Atieno, got married, while the third born, Evans Otieno, is learning at Takawiri primary school in grade 7.

Rolex’s mother struggled with paying school fees and he often would be sent home from school. It would take his mother a long time before the she could get the money to pay for him  to return to school and this affected Rolex’s performance.

Before joining GGCC, Rolex was learning at Takawiri primary school.

Rolex was admitted to GGCC in January of 2016 in KG1 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. He is so happy to join GGCC, where he will learn without being sent home for school levies.

At GGCC, Rolex will enjoy the good learning environment, sleep well and will take all three meals daily.

Rolex is promising to work hard so as to achieve his dream of becoming a teacher.  He enjoys playing football.
