Robert was born in 2008 in Wasamo Village of Mfangano West location. He is the 6^th born in a family of 9. His mother is the sole provider for the family as his father has passed away. Robert’s mother does peasant farming as a way to provide for her children at home. She also does odd jobs to help supplement, but usually it’s not enough to provide for her large family. They often struggle with having enough food to eat or paying for the children to attend school.

Four of Robert’s oldest siblings, Michael, Nancy, Clinton and Joseph are now all married and have their own families to take care of. Three of Robert’s siblings attend Wasamo Primary School. Weldone is in Grade7. Eddy is in PP2 as well as Lameck. Robert now joins one of his siblings who already attends GGCC. David is in grade 1. Robert initially joined GGCC in 2022 in grade 9 as an applicant but his mother cannot afford to pay the school fee, so he has been admitted now as an orphaned and vulnerable child.

Robert likes the school environment and is thankful that he doesn’t have to worry about not having enough food to eat or missing classes because they cannot afford it. He knows this is a great opportunity to focus on his education. He also loves playing soccer and will have a chance to pursue that passion and develop his skill there.
