Rhoda was born in 2014. She is the second born child in a family of three children. Rhoda’s home village is Kakiimba village in Mfangano North location, but they were living in Eldoret where her father was working. They family returned home to their village after Rhoda’s mother died. She was buried in the village and the children were left to live with relatives, while their father and other wife returned to Eldoret to work. Rhoda currently lives in her uncle’s home, although he struggles to provide for all of her needs.  Losing her mother at such a young age, her father leaving, and the difficulties with which her relatives have at meeting her basic needs, Rhoda has faced more challenges that she should. Life has been very hard on Rhoda and her siblings.

Rhoda’s oldest sibling is learning at Kakiimba Primary School in grade 8, while the youngest is in grade PP1 also at Kakiimba Primary School. This school is close to where they are staying with their relatives.

Rhoda was admitted to GGCC in grade 1 in 2021 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. She is so happy to join GGCC. She is an outgoing girl who relates well with her peers. She likes the school environment and likes playing with her peers.

Rhoda will learn and be able to concentrate on her studies without missing classes due to lack of school levies. She will also get all three meals daily while she attends school. She would like to become a nurse when she grows up. She likes molding and swinging with her peers.
