Reo is the second born child in a family of five children; 4 boys and 1 girl. He was born on June 16^th, 2009 in Kiwari village, Mfangano West location. Both of his parents are alive. His father is disabled but does odd jobs to try and support his family. Reo’s mother helps neighbors when she can, but does not have an occupation outside the home. With such a limited ability to provide for their family, Reo’s parents are often dependent on relatives and well-wishers. They struggle with putting enough food on the table for the children. Often, their payments for school are late and the children have gaps in their attendance, thus affecting their academic performance.

When they are able to attend school, the children have attended Kiwari Primary School. Tonny is in grade 8. Winslate is in grade 3. And the two youngest, Luiz and Valence are in PP2 and PP1. Reo was also learning in Kiwari primary school before joining GGCC.

Because of the vulnerability of this family, Reo was admitted to GGCC in August of 2021 and was found to best fit in grade 3. He is so happy and excited to join GGCC. His family is so grateful for the opportunity granted to Reo. They know that their family has been given an opportunity to change the future for their family. Reo’s education means a great deal and represents a lot of hope for this family.

Reo is a jovial boy who mingles easily with his fellow pupils. He likes the school environment. While at GGCC, he will be able to concentrate on his studies and work towards his goal of becoming a pilot. His best subjects are Mathematics, Christian Religion Education and Kiswahili language. During his leisure time, he likes playing soccer. He is in good health.
