Rawlings was born in 2007 in Ugina Village of Mfangano South Location. Rawlings father passed away in 2008 and his mother passed in 2010. He currently resides with an older relative and relies on support from his aunt, grandmother and two older siblings. Even though there are several relatives helping out with Rawlings, he has still suffered greatly. He had to drop out of school when there was no money to pay for his fees and he has lacked food and clothing. When he is home, he does his best to support his family, by fishing or working other small jobs, but it’s not always consistent or enough.  He has suffered so much, that he himself sought out admission to GGCC.

Rawlings is the youngest of his siblings, both of whom are in college.  His brother Calvin Obar graduated from GGCC and now attends Moi University. His older sister, Virginia Auma, is enrolled at Bondo University.

Rawlings joined GGCC in 2023 in grade 9 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. He is so happy to join GGCC, where he won’t have to worry about paying school fees and can concentrate on his studies. He feels confident he can finish his high school career and gives God all the glory for the opportunity he has been granted to learn at GGCC. He likes the school environment, the supportive teachers, and his fellow students. He has enjoyed participating in extracurricular activities. He says his hope has been restored and he hopes to better his life through this opportunity.  He will also get all three meals a day which he misses at home.

Rawlings likes telling jokes (comedian) and playing volleyball in his free time. His best subject is computers.
