Queen O 696

Grade Female: 9th - 12th Gr.

School Grade 9

Queen is the youngest in a family of three. Her father died in 2012. Queen's mother is a fishmonger (sells dried fish), but does not earn enough to properly care for her family. Because of the heavy burden of supporting her family, Queen's young mother goes to the lake very early in the morning to offer herself to pull in fishing nets, only to be rewarded with the undersized fish when the catch is good. When the catch is not good, she moves to the next fishing net without asking for pay. Not just ordinary men, but very strong and healthy men, do this kind of work. However, today, widows like Queen's mother endure this kind of work to raise their families, even when some are already infected with HIV.

Queen Ashley loves the environment of GGCC! She fits in very well and enjoys singing and playing with her classmates. She is still very young, though, and needs special love and tender care. At home she has a mat, blanket, and mosquito net for sleeping.

Queen and her family are blessed to be part of GGCC, and to see what God has in store for them!

Queen Ashley joined GGCC in January 2013.
