Phobian was born in 2007 in Kakrigu Village of Mfangano North location. He is the third born child in a family of four children. He lives with his mother who goes fishing and does peasant farming to provide for her family. Phobian’s father passed away. Since his death, Phobian’s mother has really struggled to provide for her family. She has relied on the help from relatives and neighbors to put food on the table at times. Phobian has also missed school when his mother couldn’t afford to pay for the materials or the school fees.

Phobian’s siblings include Daicy Akinyi Odira who is in grade 11 at GGCC, Brian Omondi who is in Kakrigu Primary School in Grade 7 and Wesley Erick who learns at Anointed Vessels in grade 1. Phobian went to St. Christine Educational Centre School before joining GGCC.

Phobian joined GGCC in 2023 in grade 9 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. He, together with his mother, are so grateful for the opportunity granted to him to continue with his studies. Phobian likes the GGCC environment that is so conducive for learning. He appreciates the resources that are available to him to use as tools for his education. This was not something he had access to before. Phobian also gave his life to Christ after joining GGCC. He values the spiritual nourishment and teachings taught in GGCC.

Phobian would like to work hard to become an engineer. He will no longer miss classes due to lack of payment, so he plans to take full advantage of his time at GGCC. During his leisure time, he likes reading storybooks and playing soccer. He is in good health.
