School Grade 5

Milton is the fifth born child in a family of seven children. He was born in 2012 in Kibuogi Island, Nyamrisra sub location in Kaksingri West location. His father who was a fisherman died in February of 2022 after suffering from an illness which lasted for two months. Milton and his seven siblings were left under the care of their mother as the sole breadwinner. Miton’s mother sells groceries in order to provide for her family, but often that is not enough due to the sheer size of her family. In addition to her 8 children, she also has a niece that is a total orphan that she cares for. Milton’s mother must rely on the help of relatives and friends to make ends meet and even then, there have been times when they only had enough to serve black tea as a meal.

Milton’s oldest sister is married. She was only able to complete her primary education. The second born sister Viola, attends Sindo Technical School, pursuing a certificate in hairdressing. The third born, Yvone was invited to attend Sindo Mixed Day school in grade 9 after scoring 226 marks on her 8^th grade exams at Kibuogi Primary School.  Milton’s brother Steve is in grade 7 at Kibuogi Primary School. Milton’s younger sibling is in a play group at Kibuogi ECDE, while the last born is still a baby.

Milton was vetted in 2022 to join GGCC as an orphaned and vulnerable child. His mother is so grateful for the opportunity given to her son to learn at GGCC. Milton is also so happy to join GGCC. He was formerly learning in Kiuogi Primary School in grade 2. Milton likes the school environment which is so suitable for learning. He likes the teachers and his fellow pupils who are so friendly.  At GGCC, Milton will learn without missing classes due to lack of school levies and this will help him to concentrate on his studies. He would like to work hard to become a police officer when he grows up. He likes playing soccer during his leisure time. Milton is in good health.
