Martin is one of five children. His mother is sick, but sometimes is able to do odd jobs and fishing to help provide for her family. Most of the time, however, the family is supported by Martin's grandmother and other relatives.

Martin and his siblings sleep on a mat on the floor. Going without food is a common occurrence for this family.

Martin joined GGCC in 2009.
