Lillian was born on August 10, 2012, in Nyahera village, Mfangano South location to a single mother. She later married but has since passed away. Lillian was then adopted by her maternal aunt and uncle. Lillian’s aunt has her own children to care for in addition to other orphans that she looks after. She works as a peasant farmer, but this often doesn’t provide enough income to support such a large family. There have been times when the family could only take one meal a day, and that being only porridge. Lillian has missed a lot of school when they couldn’t afford to pay the school fees for her to attend.

Lillian has one older biological brother. Vincent is learning at Father Tilen Secondary School in grade 10. Lillian was attending Kisui Primary School before joining GGCC in 2022 in grade 4 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. She is so excited to join GGCC. Her aunt is equally happy and grateful to God and the administration for considering Lillian as this is a huge relief for the family.

Lillian likes the school environment which is so conducive for learning. She likes her fellow pupils and the teachers who are so friendly. She will have the opportunity to learn without missing classes due to lack of school levies and scholastic materials. She will also get all three meals. This will help her to concentrate on her academics and work towards her dream of becoming a doctor when she grows up. Her best subject is mathematics.  During her leisure time, Lillian likes playing netball.
