Dagaa drying business is seasonal forcing the mother to indulge herself in law breaking business like selling unauthorized alcohol (chang’a). Many times this business ends with her in a police cell, which causes the children to suffer alot.

Kate sleep in her mother’s iron roofed mud wall house which was built long time ago and the condition of the house has worsened. She takes 2 meals a day, sleeps on a mat, covers self with a bed sheet under mosquito net.

By the time Kate was vetted and taken to join GGCC her mother promised to stop brewing the illicit alcohol.

Kate was admitted in GGCC in 2015 January after she was vetted by the vetting committee. She is so happy and loves the environment and promises to work hard in school.

In GGCC she takes all the three meals daily and also sleep well on a bed and cover self with a blanket. She plays well with her siblings.
