Ishmael was born in 2009 in Kitenyi village, Mfangano East location in Mfangano Division. He is the only child in his family. His father passed on after a long illness leaving him under the care of his mother who later died in 2015 from HIV/AIDs.  Ishmael’s aged grandmother is now his caregiver.

Life is difficult for Ishmael since the grandmother is old and cannot do much to provide for his basic and education needs.  The grandmother mostly depends on support from well-wishers.

While at home, Ishmael used to take one to two meals daily and there were times he would go without food. The grandmother was grateful and relieved when her grandchild was vetted to join GGCC.

Ishmael joined GGCC as an orphaned and vulnerable child in January of 2016. He was enrolled in KG1. He is extremely happy to join GGCC and has started making good friends.

 At GGCC, Ishmael will get a quality education, all the three meals daily and also sleep comfortably.

His hobbies are swimming, molding, playing football and hide and seek. His ambition is to become engineer when he grows up.
