Hyrine was born in 2006 in Kiwari Village, Mfangano West location. She is the first-born child in a family of four children. She lives with both of her parents. Hyrine’s father works as a fisherman while her mother is a peasant farmer. Her father is the breadwinner of the family. Even though they both work, it has been hard for Hyrine’s parents to provide for all their needs. Hyrine has missed classes when there was no money to pay to send her to school or to buy supplies. Her family may only have two meals a day at times, especially when the farming is difficult.

Hyrine’s siblings include Elvish Omondi, Stacy Atieno and Collin Mark all of Kiwari Primary School. Before joining Gethsemane in Form 1, Hyrine went to Kiwari Primary also. She joined GGCC in 2023 in grade 9 as a vulnerable child. Her parents are so grateful for the opportunity granted to her to study at GGCC, a school of excellence. She likes the school environment and the spiritual nourishment offered at GGCC.   At GGCC, Hyrine will not miss classes as per her former school. This will enable her to be able to concentrate on her studies and work towards her dream of becoming a nurse. She loves her biology courses. During her leisure time, Hyrine likes playing soccer and reading storybooks. She is in good health.
