Hesborn is a partial orphan who was left under the care of his mother after the death of his father in 2013. He was born in 2004 in Wakula village Mfangano West location.

He is the sixth born from a family of six children. His elder sibling Belinda Akinyi , dropped out of school and is married. Cynthia Apiyo and Conchella are both learning at Wakula Mixed Secondary School in grades 11 and 9 respectively. Sharon Adongo is learning in Mombasa in grade 8 while the fifth born Gideon is learning at Rinya primary school in grade 6. These children are just being helped by well wishers in their education.

Her mother who is the sole bread winner is a peasant farmer; she works very hard to provide her family with two meals daily, apart from farming she also does odd work like fetching water and firewood for sale to help her feed and also educate her large family.  Hesborn’s shopping when he was reporting in GGA was just done by well wisher.

Hesborn joined GGCC in January 2015. He was admitted in grade 2. He is so happy to join GGCC where he can take all three meals and also learn well. 

His best subject is Kiswahili and he would like to become a teacher in future.  He also enjoys playing football.
