School Grade 6

Fredrick is the fourth born child in a family of six children: two girls and four boys. He was born in November of 2007 in Ramba village, Mfangano North location. Both of his parents are alive although vulnerable because of their health challenges. Fredrick’s father previously worked as a cook at Kakiimba Secondary School but has since retired. He struggles with alcoholism and is not reliable in helping support the family. Fredrick’s mother is mentally challenged, which further adds to the vulnerability this family faces. She does her best in completing small jobs for others and that brings a little money in to support her family. However, it is not enough to meet all of the children’s basic needs as well as educational needs.

Fredrick’s oldest brother Patrick dropped out of school. The second born, Felix is in grade 9. The third born, Tyson is in grade 5. The fifth born, Purity is in grade 2, while Lavender, the sixth born, is in PP1. Fredrick was learning at Ramba Primary School, but missed a lot of school, as did his siblings when there wasn’t enough money to pay for their school fees.

Fredrick was admitted to GGCC in August of 2021 in grade 3 as vulnerable child. Fredrick and his parents are grateful that he has this opportunity to focus on his academics. He envisions himself working as a priest in the future. GGCC will help him to gain the confidence and biblical foundation to help his achieve his goal.

During his leisure time, he likes playing soccer.
