Flavour is the oldest of two children in his family. He was born in June of 2011 in Nyakweri Village in Mfangano North location. His mother suffered for several years with severe headaches. Her parents sought treatment for her, but she passed away in 2018, leaving Flavour at 5 years old and his 2-month old sibling, Tavia, under the care of the grandparents. The father refused to be involved and so the children were taken in by the maternal grandparents and have been cared for ever since.

Unfortunately, the grandparents do not have a steady source of income and they have other children they care for too.  The grandparents have struggled to both feed the children as well as send them to school. At home, they take two meals, which sometimes is so very little. They do have a permanent structure as their home.

Flavour was learning at Nyakweri Primary School before joining GGCC. He was admitted to GGCC in August of 2021 in grade 1 as orphaned and vulnerable child. His grandparents are so very excited to have him at GGCC, and so thankful that they have this kind of help for him.  Flavour has promised to work hard to become a pilot when he grows up.

During his leisure time, Flavour likes playing soccer. Flavour is in good health.
