Euralia O. 1452

Grade Female: Kindergarten - 8th Gr.

School Grade 3

Euralia was born in 2012 on Remba Island. She is youngest child in a family of five children. Both of her parents are alive. Her mother, who is the main bread winner, does odd jobs, including the selling of groceries, to provide for the family. Her father helps supplement their income by fishing. However, he does not own his own nets or boat. Even though both parents are working, they struggle to meet the basic needs of their family. And to compound the financial struggles, both of Euralia’s parents face significant health challenges. They aren’t able to afford the proper medication consistently, which causes them to become sick more often. This has attributed to the challenges this family has faced. Euralia has missed school when they could not afford to send her. She has often faced just two meals a day also.

When they are able to attend school, Euralia’s oldest sibling, Boniface, attends Bukembe Secondary school in 12th grade.  The second born, Edwin, is in 11th grade at Aingo Secondary School. The third born, Alex, is in grade 8 at Mihuru Primary School. The fourth born, Clinton, is also in grade 8 but he attends Aingo Primary School with Edwin.

Euralia was learning in Remba before joining GGCC. She was admitted to GGCC in January of 2020 in PP1 as a vulnerable child. Euralia is happy to join GGCC and her parents are also so grateful to God and the management for the opportunity granted to their daughter. This is a huge relief for the family. Euralia likes the school environment, especially the playground.  Euralia will learn without any interruption of missing classes because of lack of school fee or school uniform. She will get all the three meals which will boost her nutritional growth. Euralia would like to work hard and become a teacher when she grows up. During her leisure time, she likes playing netball with her peers. She is in good health.
