School Grade 4

Euphy is the youngest child in a family of four children. She was born in 2015 at Ngeri in Nyamrisra sub-location in Kaksingri West location. Her mother died just earlier this year (2022) after a severe bought with malaria. Euphy and his three older siblings were left under the care of their father. He works as a fisherman but does not own any of his own gear. He is at the mercy of those around him as he is only able to help the fishermen. He is often not able to go to work when he must care for Euphy and the others. Euphy’s father has struggled to feed his children properly. He has often not been able to pay for their school fees and the children have been unable to attend school regularly.  

When they are able to go to school, Euphy’s oldest sibling, Newton, attends the local high school and is in grade 12. The second born, Bromic is also in high school in grade 9 and the third born, Mitchel, is in the local primary school in grade 6.

Euphy was learning at St. Joseph Primary School, before joining GGCC in 2022. She was admitted to grade 2 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. Her father is extremely grateful for this opportunity for Euphy. He will have the ability to work more as the other children are older and can take care of themselves.

Euphy is especially excited about the boarding aspect of the school. She knows she won’t be sent home from school because of lack of payment. She will also receive 3 meals a day. She can concentrate on her academics and be a kid. She likes playing soccer and her most favorite subjects are math and English. She would like to become a doctor when she grows up.
