School Grade 10

Emmanuel was born in 2009 in Sena village, Mfangano East location. He is the third born child in a family of four children. Emmanuel’s father passed away and he along with his siblings are under the care of their mother as the sole breadwinner. She works in peasant farming to provide for her family. Unfortunately, peasant farming does not generate a lot of income for the family and Emmanuel’s mother often struggles to put food on the table. There are times when she cannot afford to pay the school fees and Emmanuel is unable to attend school. Missing several days at a time, Emmanuel fell behind in his studies.

Emmanuel’s siblings include Cavin Odhiambo of Kakiimba Secondary School in grade 9, Valentine Akinyi of Kakiimba Secondary School in grade 9 and Cyprian Awiti who is in grade 8 at Lion of Judah Primary School.

Emmanuel went to Shalom Christian School before joining GGCC in 2023 in grade 9 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. He is happy and excited to join GGCC, a school of excellence. He has shared that he loves both the quality academic excellence as well as the spiritual nourishment offered at GGCC. While at GGCC, Emmanuel will not miss classes due to lack of school levies, and this will help him to put more effort in his studies and achieve his life dream of becoming a surgeon. He will also get three meals a day that he misses at home. His best subject is geography.  During his leisure time, Emmanuel likes playing soccer and reading story books. He is in good health.
