Edward is the second born in a family of three children. He was born on January 10, 2009 in Kakiimba village, Waware sub locaton, Mfangano North location. His father died in 2008 before he was born. His mother, who is the breadwinner, is a peasant farmer.

Edwar'sd older brother, Frazier, is learning at Shalom Academy in grade 4. His younger sister Christine is a baby and not old enough for school yet.

Life has not been easy for Edward and his siblings as the mother’s income is not sufficient enough to meet the family’s needs. At times, she fetches water for people to supplement her income. However, Edward frequently would be sent home from school for lack of payment and it would take three or four days before he could return. Taking three meals was often not possible.

Edward joined GGCC in January of 2017 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. He is very happy and promises to work hard to improve his academic performance and achieve his dream of becoming a teacher. At GGCC, Edward will take all the three meals and also be able to concentrate on his studies without interruption. His mother is also grateful to the administration for offering her son a chance to learn at GGCC.

Edward loves playing football in his leisure time. 

Update, November 2017: 

Edward loves being at GGCC because he is able to be with friends and learn.  He has placed 28th in his class of 34.  When Edward returns to his village during breaks, he attends a tribal church and he loves praising Jesus.  In his free time, Edward love playing soccer.
