Condoliza O. 1417

Grade Female: Kindergarten - 8th Gr.

School Grade 8

Condoliza was born in Wasamo village, Mangano West location in 2010. She is the third born child in a family of four children. Her mother passed away leaving Condoliza and her siblings under the care of their father who is a fisherman, but also in poor health. He does not fish with his own nets, but fishes in others nets. This work is highly seasonal and is not steady. Because her father struggles both physically and financially, and with her mother’s passing being sudden and unexpected, the grandmother has stepped in to take the younger siblings, including Condoliza. However, the grandmother struggles to provide two meals a day. They also travel quite a bit to collect lake water for drinking which is untreated. Condoliza has also missed quite a bit of school when they were unable to pay for it.

Condoliza’s oldest sibling, Novi completed his grade 12 exams in 2019 and qualified to join University. The second born, Bromicks, is learning at Wasamo Primary School in grade 6. The fourth born, Bryton, is learning at Kakiimba Primary School in grade 1 which is closer to the grandmother’s home.

Before joining GGCC, Condoliza was also learning at Kakiimba Primary School in grade 3. Condoliza was admitted to GGCC in January of 2020 in grade 4 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. She is so happy to join GGCC and her grandmother and her father are equally grateful to God for the opportunity she has been granted to learn at GGCC. This will help her to meet her life dream of becoming a nurse.

At GGCC, she will learn without any fear of missing classes due to lack of school levies or scholastic materials and this will help her to concentrate on her academics. She will get all the three meals unlike at home.  Condoliza likes the school environment and her fellow pupils. Her best subject is English.  During her leisure time, she likes skipping. She is in good health.
