Charles was born in 2013 in Ugina Village, Mfangano South location. He is the youngest of the three children in the family. His mother passed away leaving Charles and his siblings under the care of their grandmother. Their father is alive and sends financial assistance at times, but he is not involved with them. His grandmother acts as the main caregiver and provider for the children.

Even though Charles’ grandmother does her best, she is not always able to meet both his basic needs of food and clothing as well as his educational needs. When she does not have the money to pay for school fees, Charles must remain at home until she has enough money to send him back. The same is true for his older siblings Mary, grade 4, and Margaret, grade 6, both at Ugina Primary. Charles also attended Ugina before being admitted to GGCC.

Charles was admitted to GGCC in January of 2024 as a partial orphan and vulnerable child. He is so happy to join GGCC and prays that the Lord will help him to meet his dream. His family members are so grateful to the administration for considering him.

At GGCC, he will learn without interruption or fear of being sent home from school due to lack of payments. This will enable him to concentrate on his studies and work towards his goal of becoming a teacher. He likes the school compound, the teachers and the pupils.
