Catty is the fifth born child in a family of seven children: four boys and two girls. She was born in January of 2014 in Kaswanga village, Mfangano North location. The family has been very vulnerable since the father, who was the bread winner, had a stroke that paralyzed his right side, forcing him out of work. Since 2017, Catty’s mother has done her best to find work to help support her family. But with working only casual jobs, like fishing for others, she has not had steady income that could support her large family. They are able to take two meals a day, rarely three. They have a permanent structure for a home, but Catty sleeps in a chair.

The oldest sister, Sabina, is in grade 12, while the oldest brother, Joseph, is in grade 10. Dismas is in grade 8. Dominic is in grade 2. The youngest two are twins and they are in a preschool class. Their names are Arnold and Shanera.

The family is so happy to have Catty admitted to GGCC. This will help them tremendously to have one student completely taken care of, both academically and physically. Catty was admitted to GGCC in August of 2021 in PP2 as a vulnerable child.

Catty likes playing soccer and has expressed interest in becoming a doctor.
