Cathy is the second born child in a family of three children, comprising of two boys and a girl. She was born in 2013 in Wasamo village, Mfangano West location. Her father, who was a teacher, died in 2017 and left Cathy and her siblings under the care of her mother who does not work. She depends on her aged in-laws for provision of almost everything. Unfortunately, the in laws often depend on their other children to help them.

Her older sibling, Brilliant, is learning at Wakula primary school in KG3. The youngest, Ronald Mgati, is not old enough to attend school yet. Cathy was admitted to GGCC in January of 2018 in KG1 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. She is so excited to be in GGA. Her family members are also happy and grateful for the opportunity granted to Cathy.

Cathy is very outgoing and has made many friends already. She loves playing with them on the swings! She is going to work hard in her schooling. She’d like to become a doctor.
