School Grade 8

Brian was born in 2009. . He is the fourth born in a family of four children. His father died in 2005. After his father’s death, his mother later remarried and gave birth to Brian. His so called father also later died. The mother does peasant farming in order to feed her family. Sometimes his mother works for people on their farms in order to supplement and make ends meet.

Brian and his siblings have really been struggling. They get two meals a day and sometimes would only porridge as a meal. Even paying for school levies has been difficult. Many times they would be sent from school for school levies and would stay for one week or more before their mother would be able to pay for them to return.

Back at home, Brian sleeps on a mat which he shares with his siblings and cover himself with a bed sheet but does not have mosquito net.
Brian joined GGCC in January 2014 after being selected by the vetting committee.

He is adapting well to the environment and mingling well with others. Brian sleep on a mattress and cover himself with a blanket in the dormitory.
In GGCC, he loves playing football and he would like to become a teacher when he grows up.
