School Grade 9

Beverly was born in Kiwari Village, Mfangano west location. She is the third born in a family of four children. Her father passed on in 2010 and left Beverly and her siblings under the care of her mother who is the sole breadwinner and only does peasant farming in order to feed and provide basic needs for her children, which has not been easy.

Beverly’s elder sibling Duncan, is learning at Kiwari primary school in grade 3. Bryton the second born is also learning at Kiwari primary school in KG3 while the last born is still a baby. Beverly has been struggling to pay school levies, most of the time she used to stay at home due to lack of money.

While at home, Beverly lives with her mother in Kiwari beach in a house given to her by her paternal Aunty. She takes 3 meals depending on the season and sleeps on a mat and covers self with a blanket. She helps her mother while at home with washing dishes.

Beverly joined GGCC in January 2015 after being vetted by the vetting committee. She is happy to learn in GGCC where she will learn without interference of being sent home for school levies.

In GGCC she plays well with her fellow pupils and sleep well in the dormitory.

She loves playing football and she would like to be a teacher.
