School Grade 1

Anjeline is the middle child in a family of three children. She was born in 2016 in Sena village, Mfangano East location. Life has been difficult for Anjeline and her family since the passing of her father. He was the sole breadwinner for the family and after his death, Anjeline and her two siblings were left under the care of their mother who’s only source of income is through peasant farming. Drought has made providing food for her children very difficult especially lately. Anjeline’s mother will complete other odd jobs to help provide for her family, but usually it’s just not enough to meet both their basic needs and their educational needs.

Anjeline’s mother is often unable to afford to send the children to school. When she can pay the fees, the oldest child, Clinton attends Misori Primary School in grade five, and Anjeline was attending Lion of Juday School. The youngest child, Victoria, is not old enough to attend school and stays home with her mother. 

Anjeline was admitted to GGCC in 2022 in PP1 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. She is so happy to join GGCC and gets along well with her peers. Her mother is also happy and grateful for the opportunity granted to Anjeline to learn at GGCC. Anjeline loves playing with her peers and she loves her fellow pupils.

Anjeline now can learn without missing classes and will get all three meals a day, which she was lacking at home. This will help Anjeline to grow well and concentrate on her academics. Her best subjects are mathematics and English. She is in good health.
