This summer, our team is traveling to Mfangano Island, Kenya, to partner with Gethsemane Garden Christian Centre (GGCC)—a ministry dedicated to caring for orphans and vulnerable children affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, as well as widows living in extreme poverty.

Mfangano Island is a beautiful but remote place where many families live without electricity, running water, or secure housing. In the 1990s, the island was devastated by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, leaving behind hundreds of orphaned children and vulnerable widows, many of whom now live under makeshift shelters of brush and weeds, exposed to the elements with little protection.

GGCC was founded to meet these urgent needs, providing children with a safe place to live, nourishing meals, a Christ-centered education, and a community grounded in God’s love.

This summer, our mission team will walk alongside GGCC’s ministry efforts, helping to build safe, sturdy homes for widows, distributing food to local families and students, and supporting outreach to the surrounding island communities. We will also spend time investing in the students of GGCC—young men and women who, despite difficult circumstances, are passionate about the Lord and eager to serve their neighbors.

Every dollar raised will directly support our work—funding the materials, resources, and ministry projects our team will help carry out to bring lasting hope and transformation to Mfangano Island.
