Rosemary O. 1509

Grade Female: Kindergarten - 8th Gr.

School Grade 6

Rosemary is the third born child in a family of four children: two boys and two girls. She was born in 2011 in Yokia village, Mfangano North location in Mfangano Division. Her mother, who was the bread winner for this family, passed away in February of 2021 from cervical cancer. The children were left under the care of their father who is crippled and depends on well-wishers for support. Life was difficult for this family prior to their mother’s death, as she didn’t earn enough to support her family, but life has become even more difficult since her passing.  Fortunately, they do have a small iron roofed, mud walled house, but are solely dependent on the support from friends, family and neighbors in securing just the basics.  Rosemary and her sister share on a mat for sleeping in their small house.

Rosemary’s oldest brother, Bruce has managed to get himself to college. Nicholus was granted admission to GGCC several years back and is now in grade 6. Rosemary’s younger sister, Rivella has been admitted to GGCC to attend with Rosemary. Rivella is in grade PPK2.

Rosemary was learning in Masisi Primary School where she was in grade 2 before being admitted to GGCC in May of 2021 in grade 1 as an orphaned and vulnerable child. Rosemary and her father are so grateful to God for the opportunity granted to them to continue with her schooling. This is a big relief to her father. He knows that while she and her siblings are enrolled at GGCC they will learn without being sent home for lack of school levies or scholastic materials.

Rosemary loves the GGCC environment. She would like to work hard to become a police officer in the future. During her leisure time, Rosemary likes playing games with her friends. Rosemary is does not have any health challenges.
